The Vietnamese futsal team (ranked 31st in the world ) played a friendly match in the second leg against Kazakhstan (ranked 7th in the world) at Thai Son Nam Stadium, District 8 on the evening of April 15.
Unlike the first friendly match, coach Diego Giustozzi used young goalkeeper Tran Van Luong in the starting lineup instead of two experienced goalkeepers Ho Van Y and Pham Van Tu.
Besides, the Argentine coach sometimes arranged a team of 3 inexperienced players Lam Toi, Cong Vien, Cong Dai alongside veteran Minh Quang to test new faces.
Meanwhile, the Kazakhstan futsal team entered the match determined to win in order to avenge the 1-4 loss in the first leg.
Facing a Vietnamese futsal team using many inexperienced players, the Kazakhstan futsal team had no difficulty taking the initiative and scoring two goals in a row by Sagyndyrov (minute 10) and Pialy Nursultan (minute 13).

The score would have been even higher if goalkeeper Tran Van Luong had not played brilliantly in his first start. He made two impressive saves against Kaibay Damir and Abdumanapuly in the first 10 minutes.
Having conceded two goals, coach Diego Giustozzi was forced to make a change by bringing goalkeeper Pham Van Tu onto the field. This helped the Vietnamese futsal team play more solidly, even narrowing the score to 1-2 in the 15th minute thanks to Cong Vien after a sharp counterattack.
In the second half, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to play well, forcing Kazakhstan to defend. The equalizer 2-2 came from a beautiful cross-field combination in the 23rd minute, when Thinh Phat backheeled for Manh Dung to shoot right in front of the penalty area, leaving goalkeeper Higuita helpless.
The goal that brought the match back to the starting line made the Vietnamese futsal players more and more excited. They coordinated their attacks beautifully and created a series of scoring opportunities, bringing excitement to the audience who packed the Thai Son Nam Gymnasium in District 8.
In the 25th minute, Thinh Phat had two consecutive shots but failed to score as goalkeeper Higuita played very well. A minute later, it was Gia Hung's turn to shoot and hit the crossbar, missing a very unfortunate scoring opportunity for the home team.
At the end of the match, Thinh Phat again shot wide when facing an empty goal. Although it was only a draw, this match was even better than the previous 4-1 victory of the Vietnamese futsal team against Kazakhstan.
