The city's Department of Tourism said that this year, tourism product development will continue to be implemented with the focus on "each district having at least one typical tourism product"; promoting cultural and historical tourism; waterway tourism; medical tourism; MICE tourism; improving the quality of culinary services... contributing to increasing the attractiveness of the city's destinations.

After COVID-19, the global financial crisis is expected to reduce the demand for travel and entertainment of international tourists, significantly affecting Vietnam tourism, including Ho Chi Minh City. However, this year's results show strong growth in domestic tourism.

"From 2024, all tourism activities and related economic and service sectors will be restored and the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry expects to welcome a large number of visitors from the above markets, contributing to the strong development of the tourism industry," said the leader of the city's Department of Tourism.

Next year, the city's tourism industry is expected to welcome about 6 million international visitors; 38 million domestic visitors and total tourism revenue is estimated at about 190,000 billion VND.
