Cole Palmer is having a disappointing season, with just four appearances since last August.
In fact, the 23-year-old midfielder suffered the injury during Chelsea's two-week pre-season preparation period.

He played the full 90 minutes of the Premier League opener, a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, but a persistent groin problem kept Cole Palmer out of the games against West Ham and Fulham.
The former Chelsea star returned from the bench at Brentford on September 13 and scored an impressive equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Palmer then scored in a 3-1 defeat at Bayern Munich.
However, he limped off the field after only 21 minutes of the encounter with MU. Coach Maresca decided to take his favorite player off early because goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off in the 5th minute.
A groin injury has kept Palmer out of England's next two games, with Tuchel admitting he's worried about his player.
As for Chelsea, the club's doctors did not recommend surgery. Instead, they believe Cole Palmer only needs rest to heal.
However, coach Enzo Maresca will not be happy because he will not have the services of the Chelsea conductor until November.
That means Cole Palmer will definitely miss matches against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland and Wolves.
