Reuters quoted information from local police as saying that the attack occurred on May 3 at a school in Belgrade, Serbia.
A 13-year-old boy used two of his father’s pistols to carry out an attack at his school. He first shot a security guard, then went on to attack teachers and students. The attack left nine people dead, including a security guard and eight students, while seven others were injured, some critically.
Belgrade police chief Veselin Milic added that in addition to the two guns, the boy was carrying two petrol bombs and was believed to have planned the attack carefully. "He even named the students he wanted to kill and their class. He was just waiting for this day. He had been to the shooting range three times before with his father," Milic said. According to him, the boy had asked to change classes.
After the shooting, the male student turned himself in. However, because he was not yet of legal age, he was placed under house arrest in a mental hospital, while his parents were arrested.
