Accordingly, the show "Symphony of the Green Island" was officially recognized by Guinness World Records for two records: " Largest Jetskis formation launching fireworks" and " Most backflips on a flyboard in one minute " by athlete Tomasz Kubik.
The show officially set two world records.
This is the first time an art – adventure sport – fireworks program on the sea has set two world records at the same time in Vietnam, opening a new milestone not only for Cat Ba but also for the domestic entertainment tourism industry.
Rigorous appraisal process – monitoring every detail
A representative ofSun Group said that the proposal to set two Guinness records for the Symphony of the Green Island show was made at the beginning of this year, when the show was still in the concept stage. Since then, the two sides have gone through many exchanges, agreeing on the evaluation criteria, supporting documents, measuring equipment, images, operating diagrams and independent witness teams in accordance with international standards.
Rigorous appraisal process from GWR representatives.
Accordingly, the inspection requires full assurance: technical documents of the performance equipment (jetski, flyboard, fireworks), safe operating configuration, athlete training procedures, stage plans at sea, team maps and previous test videos. Each document must be independently reviewed by GWR. Guinness representatives also requested the Organizing Committee to appoint a group of independent witnesses not belonging to the organizing unit, including fireworks experts, water sports technicians, and safety supervisors - to ensure absolute objectivity.
Ms. Sonia Ushirogochi - GWR senior referee exchanges inspection information.
Under the direct supervision of Ms. Sonia Ushirogochi - senior referee of Guinness World Records, the appraisal process took place strictly in the afternoon and evening of May 21, including many separate technical inspection steps for each record category.
For the personal record of “Most backflips on a flyboard in one minute” , the conditions tested included: flyboard equipment inspection, altitude – water flow speed, thruster structure, safety standards, the athlete’s ability to control his body in the air and wave conditions at the time of performance.
Sonia performed the checks for Tomasz's personal record.
Tomasz Kubik successfully performed 43 backflips in 60 seconds, surpassing the current world record of 41. The number was monitored by multi-angle video recording equipment, an independent witness team, and a rotation counter using angular velocity sensors.
“This world record attempt felt very special. Everything was harder and the pressure was great. But when I completed the last flip, I knew I had pushed my limits – and that feeling was amazing,” Tomasz enthused.
According to the coaching team, during the training process to prepare for the show, Tomasz once achieved 46 consecutive somersaults in ideal weather and technical conditions. This opens up the possibility that during the show season that lasts until early September in Cat Ba , the audience can witness him continue to conquer – even break deeper than the record he just set.
“I train constantly to overcome my limits. If the weather is good, the spirit is good and the audience cheers enthusiastically... who knows what will happen on the sea of Cat Ba?”, he added.
Jetski team performing world record.
With the collective record of “The world’s largest Jetski formation launching fireworks” , Guinness representatives conducted a test of the number of vehicles, the conditions of fireworks mounted on the jetski (including the type of fireworks, detonation devices, synchronization mechanisms with sound and light), the operational formation diagram, the accuracy of operation and the ability to coordinate between the operator and the central technical system. During the assessment, 20 jetskis simultaneously performed complex movements, maintaining speed and safety while ensuring that the fireworks were accurately detonated to the beat of the music – laser light – water.
The "wind-riding and wave-cutting" performances soon attracted tourists right from the time of practice.
Two world records confirmed as eligible
After official appraisal, the two record contents were confirmed as valid and eligible for publication.
Speaking after the evaluation process, Ms. Sonia said: “We not only evaluate the results by the naked eye but also by an independent monitoring system, with technical standards specific to each record. What we recorded today in Cat Ba is very convincing. The precision of the jetski formation, the technical difficulty of the flyboard and the combination of sports, art and fireworks – all meet international standards.”
She also expressed her feelings: “I not only saw the record being set, but also felt the energy, passion and creative spirit of the people who created this show.”
Tomasz Kubik successfully performed 43 backflips in 1 minute.
According to the plan, the handover of the certificates of these two records to the representative of the organizing committee and athlete Tomasz Kubik himself will be carried out on the opening night of the show Symphony of the Green Island , scheduled to open on the evening of May 30 and last until early September.
Staged by H2O Events and LaserVision, the show is a combination of three extreme performances including jetski, flyboard and jetsurf – set to music combined with fireworks, water cannons, and stage lighting effects never seen before in Vietnam, in a story based on the Cat Ba crane fairy and the Five Elements theory in Eastern culture. The show is the highlight of a series of new products launched by Sun Group in the center of the island, including Vui-Fest night market, The Forest Beach Club and The Sea Beach Club restaurant clusters, and a green transportation system.
