On November 27, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the "HCMC Artificial Intelligence Challenge" 2025 (AI Challenge) took place within the framework of the HCM City Innovation, Science , Technology and Creative Startup Week. The event attracted great attention from the technology community and young people.
This year, the competition recorded a record scale with nearly 4,000 contestants from 797 teams from 194 units nationwide. After intense selection rounds, 80 excellent teams entered the final round. The organizing committee awarded prizes to 41 outstanding teams in two groups: group A (students) and group B (high school students).

In group A, team OpenCubee-1 (University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM) won first prize.
Second prize went to team OpenCubee-2 , consisting of joint students from the University of Information Technology, University of Natural Sciences and University of Technology (VNU-HCM City).
Third prize was awarded to LunchRetrieval team (University of Information Technology).
In group B, team WuDButterflies (Ngo Quyen High School) won first prize. Second prize went to team LoveLAND2 (Gifted High School - VNU-HCM City). Team Non-chalant (Gia Dinh High School) won third prize.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Vo Minh Thanh , Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the organizing committee of the contest, highly appreciated the quality of this year's contest team.
He said the teams had effectively applied core technologies such as platform language models, multimodal search, inference and intelligent interaction. Many products clearly demonstrated the technical level, creative thinking and international integration spirit of the youth.
Mr. Vo Minh Thanh affirmed that the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to promote the connection between schools - businesses - scientific organizations, contributing to bringing AI products into practical applications. At the same time, the contest will continue to expand in the coming years to create a playground for the community of artificial intelligence enthusiasts.
The "HCMC Artificial Intelligence Challenge" is hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Education and Training, the City Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Information Technology Association and the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development. The event has been held annually since 2020, becoming a prestigious meeting place for the AI community nationwide.
