ICTA 2025 Conference with the theme "Towards modern technology and applications of Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductor Technology", co-organized by the Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the University of Information and Communication Technology - Thai Nguyen University.
In his opening speech, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, VNU, Prof. Tran Xuan Tu shared that the ICTA International Scientific Conference is a prestigious academic forum formed to promote knowledge exchange, announce new research results and strengthen scientific and technological cooperation in the fields of information technology, communications and new generation smart technologies.
In 2025, the theme of the ICTA conference focuses on modern applications and technologies towards artificial intelligence and the semiconductor industry. This opens up many new research directions in areas such as smart home applications, smart cities, smart education and many other areas, aiming to narrow the gap between research and practice, and at the same time point out the future trends and directions of the Information & Communications Technology industry.
ICTA 2025 attracted nearly 400 scientific works from many countries around the world. Of these, 172 works were carefully selected by the program committee to be presented at the Conference. These papers will be published in Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, Springer (Scopus, Q4). All the topics presented at the conference reflect the strong development trend of AI technology combined with semiconductors, intelligent systems, electronic circuits and new generation communication platforms, areas that are shaping the future of information and communication technology.
Prof. Dr. Vassilis C. Gerogiannis, University of Thessaly, Larissa (Greece) presented on “Hybrid Evolutionary Feature Selection: From Core Principles to Future AI Challenges”. The professor emphasized the key role of Feature Selection (FS) in reducing data dimensionality, improving model accuracy and enhancing machine learning efficiency in the context of big data. He specifically analyzed the strong development of hybrid evolutionary algorithms – methods that deliberately combine multiple metaheuristics – as effective search tools for determining optimal feature sets.
Prof. Dr. Juin J. Liou, a leading expert in the field of microelectronics and nanoelectronics from North Minzu University (China) shared on the topic “Microelectronics: Current status, prospects and reliability issues”. In the introduction, the Professor emphasized the vital role of microelectronics and nanoelectronics in the global economy. Over the past 40 years, research and development activities in this field have been strong and achieved many outstanding achievements.
However, the emergence of many new technologies in recent times has made the field of micro/nanoelectronics continue to develop rapidly, challenging and difficult to predict in the future. In addition to semiconductor technology processes and traditional design criteria, the Professor especially emphasized reliability as the core factor determining the quality of micro/nanoelectronic devices, circuits and systems. According to him, no matter how advanced a product is, it cannot succeed in the market if it does not ensure a high level of reliability.
With comprehensive content and in-depth analysis, Professor Juin J. Liou's speech contributes significantly to the orientation of research and development in the field of semiconductor chips in the context of rapidly changing global technology.
The ICTA 2025 Conference, with the participation of leading experts and representatives from international research organizations and businesses, has created a space for knowledge sharing, promoting cooperation and applying technology into practice. The ICTA 2025 Conference contributes to creating a solid foundation for sustainable development in the field of technology, towards future breakthroughs. The event affirms VNU's commitment to improving the quality of training and scientific research, accompanying international partners in the development of information and communication technology.
