Da Nang accelerates AI strategy with SuperEdge AI Summit 2025

(NLDO) – Da Nang opens a new “front” in its ambition to become the leading AI center in the region with the SuperEdge AI Summit 2025 conference.

On November 27, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with SuperEdge and AI Research Labs - Columbia University (USA) to organize the SuperEdge AI Summit 2025 Artificial Intelligence Technology Academic Conference.

Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, spoke about the city's ambition in the process of developing and applying AI technology.

Accordingly, the event was professionally led by Professor Max (Chong) Li - lecturer at Columbia University, expert in owning more than 200 US patents, blockchain advisor of the United Nations and member of the prestigious Sigma Xi Society; and Professor Pramod Viswanath - Forrest G. Hamrick Professor in Engineering at Princeton University, one of the typical scholars in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science .

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Ho Quang Buu - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, emphasized that the city is making efforts to implement major policies of the Central Government, taking science - technology, innovation and digital transformation as growth drivers.

According to the goal by 2030, Da Nang aims to become the leading center for microchip design and AI application in the country, while forming a strong innovation ecosystem, training and attracting about 3,000 high-quality AI human resources.

According to Mr. Buu, the world is witnessing a strong shift towards decentralized AI technology, verifiable data infrastructure and AI models that comply with international standards. These trends are creating new governance structures for modern cities, forcing localities to proactively prepare access capacity to avoid falling behind.

Da Nang signs a memorandum of understanding with SecureFinAI Research Labs of Columbia University within the framework of the program

Da Nang aims to use technology to improve governance efficiency, develop smart cities and serve the strategy of building the Da Nang International Financial Center.

Within the framework of SuperEdge AI Summit 2025, international experts presented a series of content on decentralized AI, authentic data standards, legally compliant AI models, and AI applications in smart cities — public finance.

One of the focuses was to discuss the possibility of integrating AI into Da Nang's public services to build an operational infrastructure based on transparent, secure, and verifiable data.

In particular, the event witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation between the People's Committee of Da Nang City and SecureFinAI Research Labs of Columbia University, aiming to promote AI human resource training, research cooperation and building technology infrastructure to serve digital economic development.

This is considered an important step for Da Nang to consolidate its position in the journey to become the AI ​​center of the Asia-Pacific region.
