At the closing ceremony, Thuyloi University awarded 11 school-level scientific research awards for the 2024-2025 school year to students and launched the 39th scientific research competition.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's scientific research topics demonstrate creativity and high practical applicability, reflecting the serious investment of students in the research process as well as the enthusiastic guidance of lecturers.
For example, some topics focus on applying artificial intelligence (AI) to serve the digital transformation of student records; researching algorithms to diagnose and support the treatment of Parkinson's disease by applying image processing technology; using pineapple fibers to adsorb heavy metals through environmentally friendly compounds; applying automatic systems in customer identification and management, etc.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai, Vice Principal of the school, said that over the years, the school has always set directions and built regulations to promote scientific and technological research in the school.
In 2024, the school just achieved level 2 accreditation, in which the criteria for science, technology and international cooperation reached 6/7, this is a high level and only a few universities in Vietnam have achieved it.
“From 2021 to now, scientific research among students has developed very rapidly, from the number of students doing scientific research, the number of topics to the lecturers participating in the guidance.
Student scientific research work increases by about 80 reports each year.
In major universities in Vietnam, the number of students doing scientific research is about 10-15%. I expect that in the next 5 years, the number of students doing scientific research at the school will be at that level, comparable to the leading universities in Vietnam," said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai.
Specifically, according to statistics from the school, the total number of scientific reports increased from 135 (2020-2021) to 408 (2024-2025), more than 3 times.
The number of students participating in scientific research increased from 385 (2020-2021) to 1,338 (2024-2025), an increase of about 7.85%.

According to the Vice Principal of the school, the scientific research journey of students is not easy, requiring effort, striving, and continuous learning to improve qualifications and research skills, requiring high striving.
In addition to the efforts of the students, the above success is also due to the contribution of the teaching staff. The teachers have inspired the students in scientific research.
Last year, Thuyloi University submitted 2 topics to participate in the Ministry of Education and Training 's student scientific research award, both topics won prizes, in which a third prize belonged to a group of students from the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Economics and Management.
The encouragement prize belongs to the group of students from the Faculty of Construction.
In particular, the group of students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment also won the Encouragement Prize at the 26th Eureka Student Scientific Research Award.
