DJ Snake, the superstar who emerged from the slums on the outskirts of Paris
Born and raised in an Algerian family in the poor, drug-ridden, crime-ridden suburb of Ermont in Paris, Snake (real name: William Sami) became a DJ after seeing a scene of a DJ standing at a window playing music in the movie La Haine.
He was fascinated by American hip hop artists like 2Pac and the Fugees without understanding anything, just listening to the rhythm, flow, and emotion.
Snake dropped out of school at 15 and worked at one of Paris' most famous record stores, where he met some of France's most famous DJs such as Cut Killer, Abdel, Bob Sinclar, Daft Punk, Mehdi... and entered the production industry at the age of 19.
Snake then had the opportunity to work with Lady Gaga and received his first Grammy nomination at the age of 25 for the song Government Hooker (from the album Born This Way ), which was included in her chart-topping 2011 pop album.
Now, after more than a decade of relentless efforts to overcome all limits, Snake's resume is "fuller" after each collaboration with pop icons Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez...
His collaborations have garnered billions of streams ( Taki Taki alone has over two billion) and views on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, and have garnered dozens of Platinum and Diamond certifications.

For three consecutive years, from 2018 to 2020, Snake was voted "DJ of the Year" at the 2019 NRJ Music Awards and was named one of the most influential French people by Vanity Fair magazine.
Responding to Billboard , the world's most-streamed French artist (with over 30 billion streams), Snake, once said: "The slums produce champions every day. I just want to show the kids in every slum in the world that we can create great things. We can change the world."

What hits will DJ Snake bring to 8Wonder?
During his career, DJ Snake has had a series of global hits and entered the ranks of stars: Turn Down For What (collaboration with Lil Jon), You Know You Like It (with AlunaGeorge), Get Low (with Dillon Francis and Diplo), Lean On (with Major Lazer, MØ), Teka (with Peso Pluma), Taki Taki (with Selena Gomez, Ozuna, Cardi B), Let Me Love You (with Justin Bieber), Middle (with Bipolar Sunshine)...
DJ Snake has released two official studio albums: Encore (2016), Carte Blanche (2019).
A month ago, in front of 80,000 fans at the Stade de France stadium, DJ Snake made history with the world's largest EDM party with The Final Show and announced his third album, due out on September 5, called Nomad .

Responding to Rolling Stone India , Snake once shared that he doesn't think too much about music, instead he likes to experiment with new things.
"It's hard to find the balance between experimenting and having your own style. I try to go left when people expect me to go right," he says. "I don't want to be confined to one style."
In a clip interview with Fun Radio ahead of The Final Show , the "billion-view EDM wizard" said he doesn't pay too much attention to views or streams, because it can affect his creativity and make him "try to copy" previous successes, leading to fake music. Snake emphasized the importance of having fun when making music.

With DJ Snake's participation at the 8Wonder music festival, the audience commented on the line-up as "it's awesome, it's international", "it's a waste of life if you don't go with this line-up, with J Bavil and Snake it's enough to blow the roof off". Some others said "anyone who is an EDM fan should form a group to go together for fun".
Currently online, some music lovers are curious about the setlist that "he" brought to Vietnam for the third time. I wonder if he will perform his hits again or "take the opportunity" to introduce new songs from his upcoming album?
"So we're about to play the legendary Turn Down for What ", "I hope you play Frequency75, Quiet Storm ", "I bet you'll play Get Low "... are the wishes of some fans.
