Accordingly, regarding the management of river sand, the province has now handed over 5 river sand mines to contractors for exploitation to serve key projects, with a demand of about 6.6 million m3 . Contractors are exploiting and transporting in accordance with regulations. The working group has also closely coordinated with units to promptly grasp information on sand exploitation activities on the river.

Regarding sea sand, the Provincial People's Committee issued a confirmation to the contractor for 2 sea sand mines in sub-areas B1.1 and B1.2, with the permitted exploitation reserve of 5.494 million m3 , on an area of ​​about 199 hectares. Up to now, the contractor has exploited over 80,000 m3 ; at the same time, the Provincial People's Committee has agreed to allow Construction Corporation No. 1 to conduct a survey and specific assessment of the location and area proposed for sea sand exploitation in area B1, with an area of ​​about 100 hectares to serve the expressway in the province.

At the meeting, the Inter-sectoral Working Group on management, inspection and supervision of river and sea sand exploitation activities reported on difficulties and obstacles in the management of river sand exploitation in the area and sea sand exploitation in areas beyond 6 nautical miles; at the same time, proposed and recommended to the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Information and Communications to soon build a system to monitor resource exploitation in the area.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Nam requested the interdisciplinary working group and relevant units to uphold their sense of responsibility, strengthen the management of licensed sand mines, and handle violations according to regulations if they are found. At the same time, strengthen the inspection and supervision of sand mining and transport vessels to prevent negative issues from arising. Request the authorities to strengthen patrols and control of vehicles on rivers, promptly detect and handle illegal sand mining, and impose strict penalties according to the law.
