The crossbow shooting competition attracted 16 male and female athletes from villages in Xim Vang commune to participate.
Male and female athletes demonstrated their crossbow shooting skills in the standing and kneeling categories; each athlete was allowed to shoot 5 arrows at a target 20 meters away. With skillful and precise techniques, many athletes achieved maximum scores with 5 arrows hitting the 10-meter mark.
The tug of war was participated by 7 teams from the villages: Hang Cho, Trong Tau, Pa Cu Sang, Xim Vang, Nam Long, Pa Hoc, Hang Chu. The Organizing Committee strictly controlled the athletes to ensure the total weight was within the regulations; each team consisted of 4 men and 4 women. The teams competed dramatically, creating an exciting atmosphere with the cheers and enthusiastic encouragement of the audience.
The most attractive and appealing part was the traditional Mong rice cake pounding competition, which attracted a large number of locals and tourists to cheer. The teams sent out young men using large wooden pestles to continuously pound sticky rice that had been steamed in wooden troughs to make rice cakes.
The round and delicious Banh Day symbolizes strength, community cohesion and solidarity. This is an activity that is both a sport and a tribute to the traditional cultural beauty of the Mong people.
At the festival area, traditional culture is also recreated through wine making and hand forging performances, helping visitors better understand the life and traditional occupations of ethnic groups in the highlands .
