DTO - On October 15, at the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Veterans Association coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 2024 Dong Thap Province "Veterans' Singing" Art Festival (abbreviated as the Art Festival). Attending were representatives of the Provincial Military Command; Provincial Veterans Association; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Veterans Associations of 12 districts and cities in the province and contestants.

The art festival attracted 11 teams to participate in the competition with more than 108 contestants who are cadres and members of the Veterans Association from 12 districts and cities in the province and the Veterans Association of Dong Thap University. Each team staged and performed a performance program of 3 or more acts in no more than 25 minutes. The 11 teams performed 38 solo, duet, trio, group singing, folk song medley, and traditional songs praising the tradition of fighting to build and defend the country of the Vietnamese people, the Party, and beloved Uncle Ho; the image of the homeland, country, culture, and people of Dong Thap. At the same time, they praised the tradition and qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the spirit of solidarity, and the exemplary overcoming of difficulties of the Veterans Association members in building the homeland.
The art festival aims to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans' Day (December 6, 1989 - December 6, 2024) and the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans" (2019 - 2024). In addition, the art festival is also an important political and cultural activity for all cadres and members of the Veterans Association in the province, thereby creating conditions for members to exchange, improve their artistic skills, and improve their cultural and spiritual life.
