In the second half, Son La played better. After attacking efforts, in the 64th minute, from a beautiful free kick by Ngoc Anh, Phuong Chinh finished with a classy one-touch goal to seal a 2-1 victory for the mountain team. This was Son La's first victory in the tournament.
In the late match of round 2, Hanoi only had a 0-0 draw with Ho Chi Minh City.
