Sony confirms Xperia 1 VII launch date

As for the launch date, Sony has set the event to take place at 11am on May 13 in Japan, which is 9am on the same day Vietnam time. Sources say the Xperia 1 VII may only be released in Japan initially, while users in other markets will have to wait a few months. It is still unclear whether the Xperia 1 VII will be distributed by Sony in the US, although a high-end model from the company has appeared on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

Is the Xperia 1 VII hardware powerful enough?

In terms of hardware, the Xperia 1 VII is said to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 12 MP periscope telephoto camera with a focal length of 70 - 200 mm, a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 30W fast charging and a 4K screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

When released to the market, Xperia 1 VII will have to compete with many other flagship smartphones launched before from many different brands.
