Twenty doctors from various specialties have participated in the emergency consultation for the patient. The patient is currently in a state of panic and some have no family, so mental care, encouragement, and nutrition are very important.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Chi - Former Director of A9 Emergency Center shared: In this fire disaster, there are two major groups of injuries, the first is due to patients inhaling a large amount of smoke, including a lot of toxic CO gas, the Poison Control Center has provided a treatment regimen. The second group is trauma, which has been initially treated and closely monitored.
The hospital also identified a large number of patients that needed continued monitoring and increased examination and treatment.
Dr. Nguyen Lan Anh - Deputy Director of the Pediatric Center (Bach Mai Hospital) said that the Center has received 7 patients, the youngest of whom is 8 months old and the oldest is 10 years old. Clinically, the patients are stable and are currently receiving high-flow oxygen.
However, the children's mental state was unstable and they were frightened. Among the 7 children, a 2-year-old child suffered from suffocation and soft tissue damage to his legs, and the most serious child suffered from CO poisoning. The Pediatric Center coordinated with a psychiatrist and the Social Work Department to support and encourage the children.
Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan - Deputy Director of the Poison Control Center (Bach Mai Hospital) said that the Center also received 7 victims. Of which, 1 severe case was diagnosed with CO poisoning, respiratory tract damage, suspected lung damage, after emergency treatment the condition was more stable, however the prognosis was severe, the remaining 6 cases are being treated actively, the poisoning tests are not too high and are continuing to be monitored at the hospital.
The remaining seriously ill patients are currently being treated at the A9 Emergency Center (Bach Mai Hospital) in a state of multiple injuries, coma, and suffocation. After emergency treatment, they have stabilized and continue to be monitored by the hospital.
