The launching ceremony of Sun PhuQuoc Airways had the theme "Sunshine Symphony", with the event space designed like the airline's first flight.
The highlight of the program was the introduction of the flight crew uniform. The uniform has a modern fashion design but still has a strong Asian influence, inspired by the ancient Northern five-panel dress and the elegant style of Queen Nam Phuong.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Construction - assessed that the launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways by Sun Group is also a welcome and proud signal. The event demonstrates the pioneering, creative and daring spirit of Vietnamese enterprises, in joining hands with the Government to realize the aspiration for national development, bringing Vietnam to new heights of development.
Mr. Dang Minh Truong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group - said: "Sun PhuQuoc Airways was created to expand opportunities for tourism, relaxation and exploration of Phu Quoc for all Vietnamese people and international tourists - with direct flights, reasonable costs, and a seamless experience from sky to ground.
For Sun Group, aviation is the wings that complete the comprehensive tourism ecosystem, contributing to realizing the aspiration of making Phu Quoc in particular and Vietnam in general become a leading destination in the region and the world."
On the same morning, the airline named after Phu Quoc island also officially opened ticket sales, ready for commercial flights from November 1.
In the first phase, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will operate the following routes: Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc - Hanoi, Phu Quoc - Da Nang, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang.
From December 2025, the airline will continue to expand its flight network with Hanoi - Da Nang and Cam Ranh - Phu Quoc routes, helping to increase connectivity between the "tourist capitals" of the Central region and the pearl island.
Currently, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is operating 3 Airbus A321 aircraft and will continue to receive aircraft to operate a fleet of 8 aircraft in 2025. According to the plan, by the end of 2026, the airline will operate a fleet of 25 aircraft and aim to operate 30-35 aircraft in 2027.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways is an airline brand invested and developed by Sun Group, with a total investment of 2,500 billion VND, exploiting the traditional business model - full service - high quality, combined with a mixed charter flight model.
The name Sun PhuQuoc Airways, named after Phu Quoc Island, is not only symbolic, but also demonstrates Sun Group's strategy of accompanying the development of the pearl island, contributing to making Phu Quoc an attractive international destination and a new regional aviation hub.
