This is an airline brand invested and developed bySun Group Corporation, with a total investment of 2,500 billion VND.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is allowed to operate the traditional business model - full service - high quality, combined with a mixed charter flight model.

Taking Phu Quoc as the focal point, Sun PhuQuoc Airways connects Vietnam's pearl island with major economic and tourist centers in the country such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other key cities.

For the international market, SPA aims to connect Phu Quoc with major cities and leading tourist centers in Asia, including destinations in Japan, Korea, China and several other potential markets in the region.

Not stopping at popular destinations, Sun PhuQuoc Airways also expands its flight network to potential tourism markets that have not yet had direct flights such as Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Australia.

The project has a total operating period of 50 years, with an investment scale of VND2,500 billion (equivalent to about USD98.81 million), of which the investor's capital contribution is VND1,000 billion. The airline's main operating center is located at Van Don International Airport, Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province.

It is known that the airline is in the process of approaching and negotiating with Boeing to buy aircraft. In the first phase, the airline will use narrow-body aircraft A320, A321 of Airbus, including A321neo aircraft.

As a new generation narrow-body aircraft, featuring outstanding fuel efficiency and flexible capacity, equipped with new generation engines and SharkletTM winglets, the A321neo helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20% per seat, while being capable of flying non-stop up to 7,400 km. This is the longest-bodied aircraft in the A320 family, allowing for a maximum of 244 seats. With these features, the A321neo is the optimal choice for airlines that want to combine efficient operation with a comfortable flight experience, suitable for both domestic and medium-haul international routes.

The period from March to December 2025 is defined as the investment preparation phase, completing human resources, technical systems and legal procedures according to regulations. If conditions are favorable, the airline plans to open ticket sales at the end of October 2025 and aims to conduct the first commercial flight as soon as possible.

At the time of licensing, Sun PhuQuoc Airways completed pre-operational stages including: researching the operating model, standardizing safety procedures and building a human resource capacity framework.

Phu Quoc is one of the world's most prominent new destinations in 2025.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) was born in the context that Phu Quoc is affirming its position as a leading resort tourism center in Asia, and is one of the most prominent new destinations in the world by 2025 according to the assessment of global tourism organizations.

Right from its name, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has affirmed its mission of connecting the Pearl Island with the world and bringing the world closer to Phu Quoc. The airline develops a “hub and spoke” flight network with Phu Quoc as the center, directly connecting major cities in and outside the country, while expanding to potential tourist destinations that do not have direct flights.

The airline connects tourists to the Sun Group ecosystem on Pearl Island.

As a strategic piece in the Sun Group ecosystem on the Pearl Island, the new airline will also connect tourists with resorts, entertainment, cuisine, shows... created by this group in Phu Quoc, creating a seamless experience from the sky to the ground.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, shared: “Sun PhuQuoc Airways is a strategic piece in the vision of creating a high-class tourism - resort - entertainment - aviation ecosystem that Sun Group pursues. We are not only building an airline for everyone, but also initiating a new way of thinking: turning each flight into a natural extension of the vacation - where emotions, Vietnamese identity and international services take off together.”

Perspective of Phu Quoc international airport being comprehensively upgraded.

The official licensing of Sun PhuQuoc Airways also comes as Phu Quoc is urgently preparing for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC 2027) - a large-scale international event, welcoming thousands of delegates, senior leaders and businessmen from 21 APEC member economies. In that picture, an airline taking off from the Pearl Island itself will not only help relieve transportation pressure but also act as a connecting gateway, bringing international friends to the destination named by Travel & Leisure as "the second most beautiful island in the world after the Maldives".

With the addition of a new airline, the aviation market is not only supplemented with new capacity, but also promotes the shift from “convenience aviation” to “resort aviation” - which has been taking place strongly in pioneering tourism markets in the region.

And with the new generation’s travel needs, the emergence of Sun PhuQuoc Airways is also a different “push”. Not simply “taking off”, with the concept of “resort aviation”, the airline is redefining the flying experience – where the vacation begins right in the sky.
