Sun PhuQuoc Airways welcomes the first Airbus A321NX of its fleet of 8 aircraft

The first aircraft in the fleet of 8 marks the beginning of a systematic investment strategy in a modern, safe, stable and classy fleet of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

On August 10, at Phu Quoc International Airport, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA, invested and developed by Sun Group ) officially welcomed the first Airbus A321NX aircraft in a series of 8 modern aircraft to be delivered and take off in 2025, marking the beginning of the airline's strategy of systematic investment in a modern fleet, operating safely, stably and with class.

The aircraft is manufactured and delivered 100% new from Airbus's factory in Hamburg (Germany), belonging to the latest version of the A321 family. The aircraft has a completely improved passenger cabin, airy space thanks to a higher cabin ceiling and larger windows, wide visibility.

The air circulation system is equipped with a HEPA filter to keep the air in the cabin clean and fresh, eliminating up to 99.9% of fine dust and bacteria, creating a safe and absolutely comfortable space for passengers. In particular, the aircraft uses the new generation LEAP-1A engine, providing outstanding operating efficiency, saving 20% of fuel, reducing CO₂ emissions by 50% and reducing noise by 75% compared to the previous generation.

The aircraft welcoming ceremony also marked the milestone of launching the official identity of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, with two main colors: Flame Scarlet and orange-yellow. On a white background, the words "SUN PHUQUOC AIRWAYS" stand out with a characteristic red color, next to the Vietnamese national flag. The letter "Q" is shaped like a sun rising from the sea and islands, with the base of the letter stylized in the shape of Phu Quoc, the 9-petal flower symbol at the tail of the plane symbolizes 9 connections, 9 service values of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

“Sun PhuQuoc Airways aims to turn Phu Quoc into an attractive international destination and a new regional air transit hub. The airline will also expand international routes from the Phu Quoc market. Sun PhuQuoc Airways considers this as both a development orientation and a social responsibility and pride in contributing to bringing Vietnam’s beautiful islands to the world ,” said Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group.

The plane was welcomed with a formal aviation ceremony.

On the same day, a signing ceremony of the capital arrangement principle contract took place between Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Vietcombank . Accordingly, Vietcombank will be the lead bank to arrange the credit package for the investment plan of the fleet owned by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, including 10 new generation Airbus A320/321NEO aircraft. It is expected that Sun Phu Quoc Airways will open ticket sales in October 2025 and carry out the first commercial flight in November.
