According to Xinhua News Agency, a traffic accident involving 14 vehicles occurred on an inter-provincial road in Golestan province, northern Iran, on the afternoon of October 30.
Morteza Salimi, head of the provincial Red Crescent Society, said three rescue teams and three ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the accident to rescue the victims.
"The accident involved two trucks, 11 cars and a bus, leaving at least 21 people injured. Three injured were taken to nearby medical centers," Morteza Salimi informed.

Among the injured is reportedly a pregnant woman, and four people are reported to be in critical condition.
The accident happened because the brakes of one of the trucks failed, said Rouhollah Jafari, deputy director of the provincial Emergency Health Department.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the accident.
Previously, in March 2024, an accident involving two trucks and six cars on a highway in Alborz province, northern Iran, killed two people and injured 11 others.
