Criminal detention of gold shop robbery suspect

On the afternoon of September 23, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Nhat Minh, Chief of Ben Luc District Police ( Long An ), said that the unit was temporarily detaining Duong Thanh Dat (27 years old, residing in Hiep Thanh Ward, Nga Bay City, Hau Giang) to investigate the gold shop robbery.

According to initial information, at around 10:30 a.m. the same day (September 23), Dat rode motorbike license plate 95E1-491.02 to KP gold shop (Ben Luc Town, Ben Luc District, Long An). Here, Dat asked the shop owner to bring out gold to choose and buy.

When the shop owner brought out 2 rings and 4 gold bracelets to try on, Dat returned 2 rings and 2 bracelets; Dat put on the remaining 2 bracelets (weighing 18 taels, worth 70 million VND) and then suddenly ran to the car to escape.

The gold shop owner chased and shouted, with the help of people around, he controlled and arrested Dat and handed him over to Ben Luc District Police (Long An) for handling.
