Construction of Choi Moi Bridge and Ong Muoi Tam Bridge is part of the investment project to build 6 bridges on Provincial Road 831.

Accordingly, from 7:00 a.m. on May 2 to the end of May 17, 2025, all vehicles, including pedestrians, will temporarily stop circulating through Ong Muoi Tam Bridge (Km23+500).

Next, Choi Moi Bridge (Km22+000) will temporarily suspend traffic from 7:00 a.m. on May 18 until June 2, 2025 to serve the dismantling and construction of a temporary bridge.

Alternative routes during construction are divided by vehicle type.

For rudimentary vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles, vehicles will travel along Vinh Hung town route, follow Provincial Road 831 , cross the existing Mang Da canal bridge, continue along the west bank of Mang Da canal, then return to Provincial Road 831, to Tan Hung town and vice versa.

For trucks with a load capacity of less than 8 tons, the vehicle will follow the canal 28 road, continue along the canal 504 road in Vinh Binh commune, cross the canal 504 bridge, to Provincial Road 831, cross Cai Mon bridge, then to Tan Hung town and vice versa.

For trucks with a load capacity of over 8 tons, the vehicle will follow the route from Vinh Hung town, Provincial Road 831 to National Highway 62 , to Provincial Road 819, then to Tan Hung town and vice versa.

After the temporary bridge is completed, it is expected that from early June 2025, vehicles with a load capacity of less than 8 tons and pedestrians will be allowed to travel through the Choi Moi and Ong Muoi Tam temporary bridges.

During the construction process, the construction unit will install a full system of signs, barriers, and arrange people on duty at both ends of the bridge and on canal 28 to guide traffic safely and avoid congestion.

The Long An Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board will be responsible for inspecting and directing the proper implementation of traffic safety regulations during the construction process. At the same time, the Department of Transport Inspectorate will regularly inspect and handle violations to ensure traffic safety and order in the area.

People and vehicles need to pay attention, follow signs and instructions at the site to ensure safety during construction.

The construction project of Choi Moi and Ong Muoi Tam bridges is part of the investment plan for 6 new bridges on Provincial Road 831, replacing the existing temporary iron bridge. The remaining bridges include Kenh 79, Kenh 28, Kenh N1 and Kenh N2. The total investment for the 6 bridges is nearly 287 billion VND, implemented in the period 2024-2027. Of which, Kenh 79 bridge is more than 133m long, the bridge deck is 11m wide; Kenh 28 bridge is more than 87m long, the bridge deck is 11m wide; the remaining 4 bridges: Choi Moi, Ong Muoi Tam, Kenh N1 and Kenh N2, each bridge is nearly 57m long, the bridge deck is 10m wide.

Currently, most of the works in the project have been started and are being constructed on schedule./.

Provincial Road 831 is the main and important traffic axis in Vinh Hung and Tan Hung districts, connecting to border routes and going to Tan Phuoc district ( Dong Thap province).

However, the current status on this route over the years still has 6 iron bridges with steel surfaces including: Kenh 28 Bridge, Kenh N1 Bridge, Kenh N2 Bridge, Choi Moi Bridge, Ong Muoi Tam Bridge (Vinh Hung District) and Kenh 79 Bridge (Tan Hung District).

These iron bridges often quickly deteriorate, break down and become outdated compared to the development and travel and freight transport needs of people and businesses. In addition, there are many potential risks of traffic accidents.

Recently, the investment project to build concrete and reinforced steel bridges to replace the existing iron bridges has been implemented, bringing great joy to the people and local authorities; at the same time, creating new development momentum.
