Awarding of retirement decision in the armed forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Chau Bao Ngoc thought a lot before signing the retirement application, despite his young age and his position as Political Commissar of the Military Command of Long Xuyen City (old).
In the end, she still sent her wish to end her 27-year career in the army, right at the time when the entire political system was changing strongly, when implementing the policy of organizing a 2-level local government, leading to the dissolution of the district-level military agency. She chose to return to being a woman of the family, putting aside the burning desires of a passionate, energetic female soldier.
In addition to having to balance the emotions of "early retirees", she and many of her teammates also face public opinion that "if you feel unwell and weak, please retire early"; or this is an opportunity to streamline and filter out cadres with enough virtue and talent to arrange cadres.
“I affirm that asking for leave does not mean that we do not have the courage, are not healthy enough or are no longer able to complete our tasks well. Staying or retiring is not only a personal matter but also a responsible choice for the unit and the collective. Following the policy of being lean, compact, and strong to be ready for the entire nation to enter a new era, we choose a new beginning for a new journey in our lives, a journey in which we will continue to live and contribute in a different way - quieter, but no less responsible. Even though I am no longer in the army, I will continue to maintain the courage, morality and qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, ready to contribute to building the locality, maintaining connections with the unit and always accompanying my brothers when possible,” Ms. Bao Ngoc expressed.
Another concern of the current cadres is to have their policies and regimes resolved early so that they can “stop” at the right time. They have gathered enough courage to make the decision to retire early and quit their jobs during this busy period, choosing the most suitable solution for themselves and the collective. However, when the new organizational structure has been in operation for 3 weeks now, many people have not been able to “stop” as desired.
An official living in Long Xuyen ward shared: “I registered for early retirement a few years to enjoy the policy of Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP. The amount of money paid is not much, while I am a department-level leader, still very passionate about my job. But I “worked mentally” with myself that “stopping” at the right time so that the unit can conveniently arrange personnel, so that young people have the opportunity to work long-term… is what I should do.
After preparing myself mentally, it was almost the end of July, but I still had not been allowed to retire. This caused inconvenience and confusion for me and the newly merged unit. For now, I will try to complete the assigned tasks well, and at the same time hope that the competent authority will consider and resolve my application and many similar cases soon. If I am not allowed to retire, and the organization needs me, I am very willing to continue to contribute to the best of my ability, without any more hesitation", the officer shared.
Many of my colleagues and close friends have officially stopped working since the beginning of July, starting a series of days living for themselves. They spend more time with their children, grandchildren, and family, making up for the months of being busy with work and business in the past. They spend time listening to their health, living slower, resting more, eating healthier and more moderately. But they still pay special attention to those who are moving forward. Conversations and inquiries: "Have you started working at the new place you've met? Is your life and work stable yet? Are there any difficulties?..." continue to happen continuously. The questioners and the answerers share with each other, encouraging each other to overcome this "transitional" period.
I will always remember the encouragement of a friend of mine: “End to begin”. For him, ending the work of those who “stopped” like him is a way to start for the team that “stayed”. Those who continue to work will face a lot of pressure, will face everything new and unprecedented. But surely, they will do it, do it well. Because, they are shouldering the expectations of those who are staying behind and of themselves, burning with the desire to move the country and the unit forward!
On July 16, the Steering Committee for the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and the construction of a 2-level local government organization model of the Government issued Official Dispatch No. 14/CV-BCĐ, stating: The Ministry of Finance shall preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to synthesize and submit to competent authorities to balance the budget, ensure funding sources for the task of arranging the apparatus, streamlining the payroll and resolving the regime and policies for subjects retiring according to the regime in Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP and Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP. |
