* A press release on September 2 from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that the country's new Prime Minister, Mr. Hun Manet , will lead the Cambodian delegation to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits in Jakarta from September 4-7 at the invitation of the rotating ASEAN Chair - Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

A press release from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that Prime Minister Hun Manet was accompanied by Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, key government officials and leading Cambodian businessmen, clearly demonstrating the importance of this regional event.

During his visit to Jakarta, Prime Minister Hun Manet will meet with Indonesian President Joko Widodo. He is also expected to participate in bilateral dialogues with leaders of ASEAN countries, as well as other world leaders.

* On September 3, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that new Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will not attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings taking place from September 5-7 in Jakarta (Indonesia). Thailand will be represented by Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sarun Charoensuwan.

Although the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not specify the reason why Prime Minister Srettha did not attend this ASEAN summit, local media previously reported that on September 5, new Prime Minister Srettha will lead the new cabinet with 34 ministers to take the oath of office before Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn at the Royal Palace, after his cabinet was approved by the King.

According to the plan, cabinet members will be present at Government House at 3pm on September 5 for a group photo before moving to the Royal Palace for the oath-taking ceremony at 5pm on the same day. Prime Minister Srettha is expected to deliver a speech to the National Assembly on the new government's policies on September 8.

* The Summit with the theme "ASEAN Issues: Growth Focus" will focus on promoting the "ASEAN Community Vision 2025" which marks an essential roadmap to enhance ASEAN's influence by enhancing the bloc's institutional effectiveness, with the ultimate goal of protecting the interests of its peoples in the international arena.

In addition, discussions will focus on building an inclusive, visionary and people-centered ASEAN Community, key aspects in shaping ASEAN by 2045.

The main agenda items include the Five-Point Consensus on Myanmar and the ASEAN Leaders’ Decision. The leaders will also discuss in depth the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
