The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a document on strengthening security and order, preserving the image of the city's tourist destinations.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the People's Committees of districts to continue to effectively implement the contents directed in Official Dispatch No. 2169/UBND-SDL dated April 21, 2022 of the City People's Committee on ensuring security and safety of tourism activities in the city during peak times.
In particular, it is important to strengthen inspections of the prevention and control of stalking and soliciting tourists at tourist sites and tourist routes in districts and towns; remind businesses and people not to solicit tourists or take to the streets to invite tourists to use services that affect security and order and the image of Da Nang as a destination...
At the same time, measures must be taken to thoroughly handle the situation of encroachment on the roadside for business, trading, and parking of vehicles that obstruct traffic and urban aesthetics, especially in areas and routes with high concentrations of visitors in districts; at the same time, strictly inspect and handle violations of security, order, traffic safety, and ensure environmental sanitation and urban civilization in the management area.
The City Police, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Tourism and People's Committees of districts and towns have strengthened inspection and handling of the situation of wandering beggars according to the direction of the City People's Committee.
The Department of Tourism regularly monitors, urges, and synthesizes reports to the City People's Committee on the implementation of security and safety work for tourism activities in the city, especially during peak tourist seasons.
Son Tra district authorities launched a campaign to handle cases of street vendors violating regulations.
At the meeting to hear relevant units report on the work of ensuring security and order in tourism and commercial civilization held on August 14, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong said that it is necessary to make more efforts and be more determined in implementing activities to ensure security and order.
At the same time, restaurants and cafes are required to sign a commitment not to allow street vendors into the restaurant area and not to solicit customers. Organize campaigns to rectify encroachment on sidewalks and solicit customers, coordinate with relevant units to review routes that are often crowded with tourists, and routes that need to have signs prohibiting street vendors.
Districts assign district leaders to be directly in charge of this field, with district hotline numbers along with the city hotline (02362.550.550), publicly posted at restaurants and tourist areas.
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong requested the Department of Tourism to direct hotels to commit not to allow street vendors to sell their products. The Da Nang Food Safety Management Board coordinates with relevant units to conduct surprise inspections of street vendors. If they do not ensure that they are recalled and handled according to regulations...
According to relevant units, recently, in areas and routes with many tourists such as beaches, East Sea Park, Dragon Bridge, APEC Park, Love Bridge, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Pham Van Dong, Ho Nghinh, Duong Dinh Nghe, Han Market, etc., there have been cases of carts selling fruits, souvenirs such as hats, caps, fried fish balls, etc., inviting and tactfully soliciting tourists to buy goods, causing a loss of tourism image and disorder. Many subjects also take advantage of children, the elderly, and the disabled to sell goods along with begging or performing magic tricks, in some places begging, making customers feel uncomfortable.
Therefore, units, departments, and sectors need to step up propaganda work through information and communication channels; strictly handle acts of begging, disguised begging; people who take advantage of or bring children, disabled people, and the elderly to sell goods on the street, combined with begging in the city.
