Strengthening animal disease prevention and control

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting relevant departments, branches, units and localities to strengthen the prevention and control of avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease and African swine fever in the province.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of communes, wards and relevant departments and branches to concentrate resources and urgently and synchronously deploy drastic and effective solutions to prevent and control livestock and poultry diseases in the province. In particular, focusing on thoroughly handling outbreaks, not allowing the disease to spread and break out; resolutely destroying sick and suspected sick animals according to regulations and proactively implementing full support policies for livestock farmers suffering losses due to epidemics in accordance with the law; promptly detecting and strictly handling violations such as: Buying, selling, transporting sick animals, dumping dead animals causing the spread of disease and environmental pollution.

In addition, proactively prevent diseases for livestock, especially focus on fully vaccinating against dangerous infectious diseases for livestock and poultry, ensuring that at least 80% of the total existing livestock are vaccinated; guide livestock farmers to strengthen the application of disease prevention and hygiene measures for livestock; focus resources on organizing the construction of disease-free livestock facilities and areas; proactively handle and completely handle newly discovered epidemics; strictly handle cases of concealing epidemics and slow reporting that lead to the spread of epidemics. At the same time, strengthen management and strictly control the transportation of animals and animal products; resolutely prevent and strictly handle cases of illegal transportation; step up inspection, supervision, and strictly handle acts of trading, transporting, and slaughtering animals that do not meet requirements on disease prevention, control, and food safety.
