Strengthening the prevention of banking-related crimes

On October 26, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Police to organize a Conference to summarize the movement "All people protect national security" for the period of 2020-2023 and launch the movement for the period of 2023-2028 at units in the city, contributing to preventing crimes that have and are still posing a potential threat to social order and safety, especially banking activities with the characteristic of being a place to store and transact money.

Attending the event were Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, leaders of professional departments, police of 21 districts in the area and Thu Duc City. On behalf of Agribank, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri, Head of the Southern Representative Office and leaders of departments and offices.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Deputy Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Southern region, said that during the launching period of the movement "All people protect national security" 2020 - 2023, Agribank units have implemented a strong change in quality, bringing practical results in the work of preventing and combating crimes and social evils; protecting security and order; contributing to building a safe and stable operating and business environment.

Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Deputy Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Southern region, spoke at the conference.

In particular, in the new situation, when crimes in the banking sector are increasingly sophisticated and complicated, Agribank units have closely coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Police and local police management agencies to regularly exchange information on security and order, methods and tricks of crime, information on criminals and social evils that each unit knows to have plans to coordinate, support and prevent and combat, and promptly warn customers.

Many units of Ho Chi Minh City Police and Agribank attended the conference.

During the period of 2020-2023, the Southern Regional Office of Agribank coordinated with the Economic Security Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) to organize 1 launching conference, 2 preliminary reviews, and promptly commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in security and order protection and participation in the movement of All people protecting national security. Over the years, 36 collectives and 68 individuals of Agribank have been awarded certificates of merit by Ho Chi Minh City Police, and 13 individuals have been awarded Commemorative Medals by the Ministry of Public Security .

Individuals and groups were awarded certificates of merit at the conference.

Implementing the movement "All people protect national security" in the period of 2023 - 2028, Agribank units regularly continue to disseminate to cadres and employees the Party and State's documents and policies; strengthen internal political protection, protect State secrets; strengthen the agency's security force; develop internal regulations and procedures for protecting agencies and units according to regulations; strengthen coordination with the police force to organize professional training, exchange information to warn about types of crimes and forms of crimes related to banking activities to have timely prevention and handling measures.
