On the morning of November 10, in Hanoi , the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, the Hanoi Student Association, the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK and Italy, and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized a student scientific conference on aviation and aerospace technology.
In his opening speech at the workshop, Professor, Dr. Tran Hong Thai, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, stated: "Aviation and space technology has been of interest to the Party and the State since early on. Recently, through Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025, aviation technology has once again been affirmed as a strategic technology group of the country with three main products: remote sensing satellites, low-altitude telecommunications; ground stations, satellite control systems; unmanned aerial vehicles".

Over the past decade, the Vietnam Space Center (under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) has gradually become autonomous in designing, manufacturing, assembling, integrating and successfully testing many satellites such as PicoDragon, NanoDragon, MicroDragon and soon LOTUSat-1 (Vietnam's first synthetic aperture radar satellite).
"The establishment of VinSpace Joint Stock Company in early November is a clear demonstration and strong driving force for the comprehensive development of the country's space technology, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese students to nurture their dreams of contributing their youth to the path of aviation and space technology," Professor, Dr. Tran Hong Thai shared.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Science and Technology , by 2030, Vietnam will need about 1.3-1.5 million high-tech workers, including those in aviation and aerospace technology. However, reality shows that Vietnam can only meet less than half of this number.

The student scientific conference on aviation and space technology had the participation of many experts such as: Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Ninh Thuan, Director of the Institute of Aerospace Technology (University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Dr. Phan Minh Hien, Head of the Aerodynamics and Flight Dynamics Research Group (Viettel Aviation Technology Center); Dr. Vu Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Space Center...

It is known that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association will direct and coordinate the implementation of a series of 11 student scientific seminars with content revolving around 11 strategic technology fields that the Government identified last June. The student scientific seminar on aviation and space technology is the second event in the series of 11 seminars above.
Through this, the organizers hope to create open academic forums for students, lecturers, scientists, and businesses to meet, exchange, share knowledge, and propose research directions, contributing to shaping Vietnam's knowledge space in the era of conquering the sky and space.
