Regional minimum wage increase from January 1, 2026

QNgTV- The Government has stipulated to increase the regional minimum wage by 250,000-350,000 VND per month, equivalent to an average of 7.2%, applicable from January 1, 2026 for employees working under contracts.

On November 10, the Government issued Decree 293 regulating the minimum wage for employees working under labor contracts, effective from January 1, 2026, replacing Decree 74/2024.

The Government has stipulated to increase the regional minimum wage by 250,000-350,000 VND per month, equivalent to an average of 7.2%, for workers working under contracts. The hourly minimum wage has also been raised accordingly, with region one from 23,800 VND to 25,500 VND; region two from 21,200 VND to 22,700 VND; region three from 18,600 VND to 20,000 VND; and region four from 16,600 VND to 17,800 VND.

Decree 293/2025 is expected to contribute to improving workers' income and ensuring a minimum standard of living in the context of rising living costs and commodity prices.
