November 11: Thunderstorms appear in many central areas
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, on the afternoon of November 10, Ho Chi Minh City experienced heavy rain and thunderstorms in the areas of Hoa Hiep, An Khanh, Thao Cam Vien and Dinh Doc Lap. Rain accompanied by lightning and gusts of wind of level 5-7 (8-17 m/s) caused some roads to be slightly flooded.
In the next 3 hours, the thunderstorm area continued to expand, causing heavy rain in many neighboring wards and communes. Rainfall was generally between 8-30mm, with some places exceeding 30mm. People were advised to limit their movements during thunderstorms to ensure safety.

November 12-14: Cold air approaches, weather begins to turn chilly
From November 12, the cold continental high pressure in the North will strengthen, causing strong northeast winds in the southern seas. The weather in Ho Chi Minh City will begin to change significantly, with light fog in the morning, sunny and cloudy during the day, and scattered showers in the evening and at night.
In the East Sea, storm No. 14 (Fung-Wong) is moving further away and weakening, without directly affecting Vietnam’s mainland. However, the storm’s distant circulation combined with cold air makes the weather in the South tend to be cooler than at the beginning of the month.
November 15-16: The weather is distinctly cold, with showers appearing in the late afternoon.
November 15-16 is forecasted to be the period when the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will turn coldest. During the day, there will be light sunshine, but the temperature at night and early morning will drop to 23-25°C, with some places below 23°C.
Strong northeast winds cause light showers in the evening. Above, subtropical high pressure encroaches to the west, creating easterly wind disturbances causing localized thunderstorms.
People can feel the cool, dry air, typical of the year-end weather in the South.
November 16-18: Thunderstorms increase, beware of localized flooding
From November 16-18, the equatorial low pressure trough will lift its axis to the North, making the weather in the South more unstable. Thunderstorms will occur over a wide area, with moderate to heavy rain in some places, concentrated in the late afternoon and at night.
Low-lying areas and canals are prone to flooding due to heavy rainfall. During thunderstorms, be alert for tornadoes, hail and lightning. Strong gusts of wind can reach level 6-7, affecting traffic and daily life.
During this period, people in Ho Chi Minh City should proactively prepare raincoats, check the drainage system and limit going out when it rains heavily.
November 19-20: Rain decreases, weather is cooler and more pleasant
Starting from November 19, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will be stable again. The rain will gradually decrease, with only light showers in some places in the afternoon. The temperature will fluctuate between 24-33°C, the weather will be cool and pleasant.
The northeast wind continues to maintain moderate intensity, bringing cool, dry air. This is considered an ideal time for outdoor activities, but people should still pay attention to the rapidly changing weather, avoiding catching a cold in the early morning and at night.
