- From mid-June 2025 to present, the output of fresh fruits from Vietnam exported to the Chinese market through Lang Son province's border gates has increased sharply. To facilitate the export of this product, Lang Son province's functional departments have actively implemented specific and practical measures.
According to statistics from the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board, from mid-June 2025 to present, every day there are about 470 vehicles carrying export goods passing through the province's border gates, of which about 375 vehicles carry fresh fruit, accounting for nearly 80%.
Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Head of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone Management Board, said that from mid-June 2025 to now, localities across the country have entered the main harvest season of many types of fresh fruits such as lychee, mango, longan, durian, dragon fruit, banana... Therefore, the output of fresh fruits of Vietnam cleared by businesses through border gates of Lang Son province has increased nearly 2 times compared to the previous period (from April to May 2025).
Typically, for lychee, from mid-June 2025 to now, the authorities at the province's border gates have cleared customs for 623 export vehicles with an output of nearly 10.4 thousand tons, an increase of more than 6.5 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2024.
Mr. Nong Quang Hung, Deputy Head of Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs Team, said: From June 2025 to now, on average, Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs Team has cleared about 126 vehicles carrying export goods through the Tan Thanh - Po Chai dedicated freight road (area of landmark 1088/2-1089) every day, of which 115 vehicles carry fresh fruits, an increase of 45 - 50 vehicles compared to April and May 2025.

The Deputy Head of the Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs Team added that in order to promote customs clearance of fresh fruits, the team has proactively created a "green channel" for this item (meaning that there will be no physical inspection, only post-clearance declaration documents will be checked). After having all the required documents, the team will process customs clearance procedures for about 2 minutes per truck exporting fresh fruits through the border gate. In parallel, the branch also works through lunch and on holidays to support the processing of customs clearance procedures for businesses exporting fresh fruits.
It is known that, in addition to lychee, there are currently 10 types of fresh fruits from Vietnam that are officially exported to the Chinese market and regularly go through customs clearance procedures through Lang Son province's border gates, including: durian, dragon fruit, jackfruit, mango, watermelon, banana, rambutan, longan, mangosteen, and passion fruit. All of the above fresh fruits are classified as "green channel" goods by the customs force at Lang Son province's border gates, thereby helping to shorten the time for customs procedures and clearance of goods.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Vuong, Deputy Head of the Customs Branch of Region VI, said that the branch's leaders have directed 6 customs teams at the border gates (allowed to carry out customs clearance at this time) to focus all their efforts and apply reasonable solutions to promptly support businesses exporting fresh fruits. In particular, priority is given to pre-clearance procedures for vehicles carrying fresh fruits from Vietnam exported through the border gates.
In addition to creating "green lanes" and minimizing risks for fresh fruit products, customs agencies at border gates also proactively coordinate with businesses operating wharfs at border gates to organize separate parking areas and lanes for vehicles carrying fresh fruit for export.
Through research, we learned that at this time, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone, the Department of Industry and Trade and other functional forces also regularly exchange and hold direct talks with Chinese authorities. Through the talks, the agencies and units of both sides have basically agreed to shorten the quarantine time for Vietnamese fruits exported to China, contributing significantly to improving the efficiency of customs clearance of fresh fruits.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade regularly updates the import and export situation of fresh fruits to promptly inform the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities across the country. At the same time, the Department has also built an electronic information page on developments in fruit export activities for businesses to promptly look up. From there, businesses promptly grasp the information, proactively regulate the number of vehicles carrying fresh fruit for export reasonably, thereby avoiding businesses from being damaged by congestion leading to spoiled fruit.
Ms. Nong Thu Ha, representative of Phu Anh Company Limited (headquartered in Dong Dang commune) said: Thanks to the active support of customs forces and other functional forces at the border gate, businesses exporting fresh fruits like us have reduced many storage costs, kept the quality of goods fresh, especially the fast customs clearance on the same day has helped businesses deliver goods on time according to the contract to Chinese partners...
All the solutions being implemented by departments, branches and functional forces at the border gates of Lang Son province have been contributing to speeding up the customs clearance process of fresh fruits from Vietnam exported to the Chinese market. This helps businesses optimize profits and contributes significantly to the economic development of localities in the country, especially in the context of the main crop season taking place vigorously.
