Remove “bottlenecks”
In 2020, the whole province had 736 bridges on rural roads, of which only 155 bridges were solidly built from Program 135, Investment Project on construction of people's bridges and management of local road assets... However, through review, localities still have 581 temporary bridges, old bridges and places without bridges over streams and creeks.
In the 2020 - 2025 term, Tuyen Quang set a goal that by the end of 2025, 100% of villages in the province will have car roads to the center. To achieve this goal, the province prioritized concentrating resources and issued Resolution No. 55/NQ-HDND approving the project to concretize rural roads and build bridges on rural roads, phase 2021 - 2025.
Na Kham Bridge, Hong Quang Commune (Lam Binh) is built according to Resolution 55 of the Provincial People's Council.
O Ro Bridge, spanning O Ro stream, was completed and put into use at the end of 2023 to the joy of many people in Hung Long village, Thanh Long commune (Ham Yen). Comrade Nguyen Thi Tam, Chairman of Thanh Long Commune People's Committee, said: The concrete bridge connects the road leading to the residences of more than 20 households and dozens of hectares of production land of the people of Hung Long village. With support for the construction of the bridge, the people of Hung Long village were very excited. 3 households living adjacent to O Ro stream voluntarily donated about 1,500 m2 of garden land, ponds, and fields to build the bridge, providing maximum support for the bridge project to be completed on schedule.
Since the completion and use of the Bay Hao bridge in Lem village, Khang Nhat commune, Son Duong district, the economic conditions of the village have completely changed. Mr. Tran Van Bac, Lem village, Khang Nhat commune shared: “The Bay Hao bridge was invested in and built to facilitate trade, making it safer for students to go to school. In particular, Lem village is a paper-growing area, so the exploitation trips have been smooth, and trucks have come to the site to transport wood. The agricultural and forestry products of the people are easier to trade and have better prices.”
Determined to achieve the goal
Resolution 55 - Provincial People's Council has been implemented methodically with the support of the people, contributing to improving the transportation system in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas. From 2021 to 2024, the province has completed 900.86/1,080 km, reaching 83.41% of the plan; built 161 bridges on rural roads, reaching 80.5% of the Resolution, of which 116/200 bridges have been put into use, reaching 58% of the plan, and is currently constructing 45 bridges on rural roads. By 2025, the province strives to build 166.146 km of rural roads (village roads 42.142 km, intra-field roads 124.004 km), and build 39 bridges on rural roads. Strive to achieve 100% of the Resolution's target by the end of 2025.
The bridge in village 2 of Dao Vien commune (Yen Son) is being urgently constructed to serve the people before the rainy season of 2025. Mr. Nguyen Dac Su, village 2 of Dao Vien commune shared: “This is a large stream running along several villages, so every time it rains heavily, 24 families in the village are completely cut off from the outside world. Once, when I went to pick up my grandchild from school on a rainy day, my whole person and vehicle were swept away. Luckily, someone saw it and called out to help, so we escaped death. When the province invested in this bridge, we were very excited! My family and 2 households voluntarily donated nearly 700 m2 of land to build the bridge. Everyone hopes that the bridge will be completed soon to make traveling easier. With a road and a bridge, the people's 120 hectares of forest will be sold for a higher price.”
With the policy of “People do, state supports”, along with the participation in contributing funds, materials, and working days, in many communes, villages, and residential groups in the district, people have voluntarily donated land, cleared the ground to build village roads, intra-field roads, and built bridges on traffic roads. After 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 55 of the Provincial People's Council, up to now, Lam Binh district has built 8.43 km of village roads; 26.7 km of intra-field roads; coordinated with the Provincial Department of Transport to build 11 bridges across streams, bringing a new look and new life to many disadvantaged villages.
The bridges and roads in difficult areas that are appearing every day are vivid proof of the effectiveness of Resolution 55 of the Provincial People's Council.
