Today, January 20, in Hanoi , the 2nd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) took place, term X, term 2024-2029.
Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation, Vice President-General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Vice Presidents of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front chaired the Conference.
Negotiate and nominate candidates for the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
At the Conference, Vice President-General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented the report of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the consultation of appointing personnel to join the Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
Accordingly, based on the announcement of the Secretariat on the transfer and introduction of Mr. Tran Viet Truong - former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to consult and elect to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029; based on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front approved by the National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X; implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front submitted to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for consideration and decision to appoint Mr. Tran Viet Truong - Member of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to participate in the Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
From the content of the Proposal, 100% of the delegates attending the Conference voted and consulted to elect Mr. Tran Viet Truong to join the Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
Speaking at the ceremony to receive the assignment, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Viet Truong expressed his sincere thanks to the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for trusting, introducing, negotiating, and assigning the task of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term; thanked the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Organizing Committee and the central agencies for their attention and trust in assigning him the important responsibility.
Emphasizing that this is an honor and also a great responsibility assigned by the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and People, Mr. Tran Viet Truong affirmed that he will strive even more, constantly cultivate and train his political qualities, ethics, lifestyle, be dedicated to his work, try to continue learning, be open-minded, quickly approach new tasks, inherit the achievements and valuable experiences of previous leaders, and make greater efforts to successfully complete assigned tasks.
Mr. Tran Viet Truong affirmed that he will, together with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, continue to effectively carry out the task of gathering, building, and promoting the strength of great national unity; practicing democracy, enhancing social consensus; paying attention to protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the People; strengthening social supervision and criticism; participating in Party and State building, and people's foreign affairs activities to contribute to building and defending the Fatherland; focusing on implementing well the work of streamlining the organizational structure of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.
In his new position, Mr. Tran Viet Truong hopes to continue to receive the sharing, wholehearted attention, leadership, direction, and facilitation of the leaders of the Party, State, and the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the encouragement, love, care, sharing, support, and valuable experience of the revolutionary veterans and previous generations of leaders; the attention of comrades in the Standing Committee, the Presidium, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations; the joint efforts and unanimity of the staff, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the specialized agencies of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and of the Front officials at all levels, to help him successfully complete his new tasks.
At the Conference, providing information on the implementation results of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and some outstanding contents in the work of the Front in 2024, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien said that with very high political determination and the motto "The Central Committee sets an example first, the localities respond and follow", "running while lining up", the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW has achieved the set goals, creating a very high consensus within the Party, among the People and supporting international public opinion.
Emphasizing the innovations in the implementation of the summary of this Resolution of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Do Van Chien stated that, thoroughly grasping the direction of the Politburo, the Central Steering Committee and the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has resolutely, synchronously, quickly and effectively implemented the review, arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to ensure effectiveness and efficiency to fulfill the noble mission assigned by the Party, State and People.
By December 31, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front had completed the review and arrangement of its internal organization and reduced it from 16 focal points to 8 focal points; it was assessed by the Central Steering Committee as one of the agencies that performed this task well.
“In the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, the Politburo will soon announce the establishment of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations. The establishment of the Party Committee will strengthen the coordination between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its affiliated Party organizations, thereby contributing to firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc. I hope that the members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will promptly grasp and reflect the situation of the people and support the great revolution of our Party and State,” said Mr. Do Van Chien.
Referring to some highlights of the Front's work in 2024, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front said that after completing the construction of 5,500 houses for poor households and people in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces, the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front reported to the Politburo and the Secretariat, and coordinated with the Central Emulation and Reward Council to launch a nationwide emulation movement to join hands in "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025.
“Immediately after launching the movement, it received great support from society. Up to now, the program has built over 76,000 houses, and 220,000 houses need to be supported to build with a budget of about 6,000 billion VND” - Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized and requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities to pay attention to strongly promoting the implementation so that the program can be maintained on schedule, striving to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
According to the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the highlight in 2024 is also the Vietnam Fatherland Front mobilizing agencies, enterprises, organizations and individuals at home and abroad to support large resources to send to the people of 26 provinces and cities in the Northern region to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 3 (Yagi). At the end of the donation period, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee received over VND 2,573 billion and allocated resources to localities to ensure publicity and transparency.
The inspection results of the monitoring teams show that localities have allocated 2,040 billion and made the list public at the Commune People's Committee. The remaining amount will be discussed, agreed upon and a specific Resolution on the allocation of support will be issued by the Party Delegation and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This is a historic activity, we have never mobilized such a large amount of resources.
In addition, providing information on the results of taking care of the poor and people in difficult circumstances during Tet, Mr. Do Van Chien said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to coordinate with socio-political organizations and mass organizations to mobilize social resources together with the State budget to take care of Tet for the people.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has allocated VND17 billion to support localities in taking care of the poor during Tet. In recent days, the Secretariat has assigned leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to visit, encourage, and give gifts to policy families, disadvantaged people, and poor people in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces and cities. Along with the support of the Central Committee, local Party committees, authorities, and Vietnam Fatherland Front have mobilized resources to support the poor during Tet.
From the achievements of the Front's work in 2024, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front hopes that the seniors and members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to have dedicated opinions and specific contributions so that the Vietnam Fatherland Front can complete the proposed action program.
