Chinese beauty Zhang Miaoyi beat out 20,000 candidates to play the lead role in the movie "Dream of the Red Chamber".

The film was filmed in 2018, when Miao Di was 20 years old. According to Ifeng , at that time, the female student surpassed about 20,000 candidates to play the character. She underwent nine months of training in style, music , dialogue, dancing... before taking on the role.
