According to the special correspondent of VNA, right after arriving in Sao Paulo, starting an official visit to the Federal Republic of Brazil, on the afternoon of September 23 local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Embraer Aerospace Corporation in the city of Sao José dos Campos, Sao Paulo state.
Introducing the group to the Prime Minister and the delegation, Chairman and General Director of Embraer Group Francisco Gomes Neto said that Embraer is currently the third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world, after Boeing and Airbus, with strength in manufacturing aircraft with less than 130 seats.
Embraer has more than 18,000 employees, operating in 80 countries around the world , with 2022 revenue of 4.6 billion USD and profit of 540 million USD.
In Vietnam, Embraer Group has delivered 5 E190 aircraft to Bamboo Airways.
Chairman Francisco Gomes Neto accompanied Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the High-Level Delegation to visit the exhibition area of Embraer's aircraft models and modern production infrastructure.
Mr. Francisco Gomes Neto warmly congratulated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his official visit to Brazil and thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to visit the group, highly appreciating the potential of the Vietnamese market, suitable for the group's available aircraft lines, especially suitable for short flights and not too large number of passengers.
The Group Chairman expressed his wish to continue receiving the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government in the process of seeking cooperation opportunities and expanding the market in Vietnam; ready to deploy aircraft maintenance and repair services in Vietnam, as well as providing technological solutions in the aviation sector.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that air transport has many advantages for development, becoming a trend of the times such as convenience, speed with increasingly reasonable prices; investment in aviation infrastructure is also cheaper than other types of transport such as road and rail.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam's aviation industry has developed very rapidly in recent times, along with the speed of socio-economic development, the increase in tourism demand and trade and investment activities. Vietnam now has many operating airlines and has greater potential for development.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated Embraer's commercial aircraft products in terms of operational safety and environmental friendliness; he said that the group's new generation commercial aircraft can be a solution to help Vietnamese airlines develop their aircraft fleet while ensuring operational efficiency and flight safety.
Expressing his belief in a more open future for aviation trade between Vietnam and Brazil, the Prime Minister suggested that Embraer expand cooperation and investment to develop the group's business ecosystem in Vietnam.
In addition to continuing to contact and discuss with Vietnamese airlines to seek opportunities for cooperation, business and research to participate in providing aircraft maintenance and repair services, the Prime Minister suggested that the group participate in training human resources in the aviation industry, provide short and long-term professional training courses for officials in the Vietnamese aviation industry, support Vietnam with technological solutions to help improve management capacity in the aviation sector, increase automation, support forecasting and prevent risks in flight management activities.
