Experts from the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance have disseminated to delegates attending the 2017 Fisheries Law, the content and plan to implement recommendations and prepare a plan to welcome the European Commission delegation for the 5th inspection (expected at the end of 2025), new legal regulations related to the fisheries sector, combating IUU fishing, detailed instructions on new features of the national electronic seafood traceability software system (eCDT VN), monitoring, output, classification of seafood unloaded through fishing ports; recording fishing logs, issuing fishing licenses, certificates, confirming the origin of exploited seafood, etc.

Vung Tau City has 1,369 fishing vessels, of which 773 operate offshore, 68 operate inshore and 528 operate inshore.
The city has completed 100% of the registration of 93 “3 no” vessels and issued fishing licenses. From April 2021 to present, there have been no cases of fishing vessels being detained by foreign countries for illegal fishing in foreign waters.
