Adjustment to remove Go Gang airport planning

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1680/QD-UBND approving the adjustment of the "Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050".

This Decision aims to amend and supplement a number of contents in Decision No. 1629/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2023 of the Prime Minister , contributing to concretizing the goals of spatial development, infrastructure, urban, commercial and environmental protection of the province in the coming time. In particular, adding the urban development model associated with public transport (TOD), specifically along the Ho Tram urban expressway - Long Thanh International Airport. This is considered an important strategy to develop modern urban space, while promoting effective regional connectivity.

Regarding transport infrastructure, the adjusted planning focuses on synchronizing the road system, from national to local. Notably, the province is expected to have 23 provincial roads by 2030, of which 12 existing routes will be upgraded and expanded and 11 new routes will be added to enhance regional connectivity. In particular, the Ho Tram - Long Thanh Airport urban expressway is included in the priority investment list with a scale of 4-6 lanes.

The aviation planning was also adjusted to remove the Go Gang airport planning, instead orienting urban and service development in this area.

In the field of trade, the province aims to develop a system of modern shopping centers, supermarkets and markets in urban areas of type I, II and III, while upgrading and rearranging traditional markets in district centers, and developing night markets to serve tourism in Vung Tau, Ba Ria, Long Hai, Ho Tram and Binh Chau. This is to meet the increasingly high and diverse consumption needs of people and tourists. (Tam Minh)
