Update coffee prices today 8/6/2025

Coffee prices have unexpectedly increased sharply in the Central Highlands, in line with the general trend of the world market. Notably, this new increase in domestic markets has exceeded 100,000 VND/tael, reaching a new record. And creating a positive wave for the Vietnamese coffee industry.

Coffee prices today, August 6, 2025, recorded a significant increase in the Central Highlands provinces. Specifically, Dak Lak increased by 1,000 VND to 101,000 VND/kg, Lam Dong and Gia Lai also increased by 1,000 VND, reaching 100,700 VND/kg and 100,800 VND/kg, respectively. Forecast of domestic coffee prices on August 7, 2025

Converted by exchange rate, Robusta price in the two near-term delivery periods is 87,400 - 88,800 VND/kg while domestic coffee price is 100,000 VND/kg before the London trading floor. It is forecasted that today's coffee price in the Central Highlands will fluctuate little, around 100,000 VND/kg. This price is supported by limited domestic supply and stable demand.

However, the rapid increase in prices may cause some growers to consider selling, creating a slight downward pressure on prices in the short term. In the long term, with the world market increasing and supply still facing many challenges, domestic coffee prices are expected to remain high.

World Coffee Price Forecast August 7, 2025

The sharp increase in Arabica coffee prices is believed to be due to a decrease in inventories on the floor due to strong selling pressure in previous sessions. Trade negotiations between Brazil and the US have not yet produced results, the US still suspends a 50% tariff on Brazilian coffee, making the market situation unclear.

Robusta prices are under pressure due to forecasts of widespread rains this week in Vietnam, which will boost crop yields, while Arabica prices have surged due to tensions between the US and Brazil, experts said.

The Center for Industry and Trade Information and the Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that by the end of July 2025, Brazil had completed harvesting about 84% of the 2025–2026 crop area, higher than the average of many years.

General future trends

The United States is the world’s largest coffee consumer, importing about a third of its coffee from top producer Brazil. Tensions between the United States and Brazil have pushed up Arabica prices. In addition, Arabica inventories on ICE have also contributed to supporting Arabica prices, with ICE-monitored Arabica stocks falling to a 14.5-month low of 754,516 bags on August 5, 2025.

Brazil's coffee cooperative Cooxupe said its members had harvested 74% of their expected 2025 crop as of August 1, up 10.6 percentage points from the previous week. Cooxupe is Brazil's largest coffee cooperative and the country's largest coffee exporter. Brazil's total 2025/26 coffee harvest is now 90% complete, with 98% of its Robusta crop and 85% of its Arabica crop harvested.

Favorable weather conditions in Brazil's main growing regions have helped ensure the quality and output of the country's coffee, increasing pressure on the market's supply, making the prospect of a recovery in Robusta coffee prices dim. However, with Arabica inventories falling sharply and trade tensions between the US and Brazil still not cooling down, Arabica prices are expected to continue to increase in the coming time.
