According to the Department of Industry and Trade, online export activities (cross-border e-commerce) are the choice of many businesses to shift from traditional transactions to digital platforms to survive and develop. City businesses are always proactively participating deeply in the global value chain through digital platforms, online international payments and global digital marketing to expand the export of goods.

According to Ms. Do Thi Quynh Tram, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, online export activities are being strongly promoted. Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has organized many conferences, seminars, and training courses to support businesses, cooperatives, and business households to grasp e-commerce trends and skills to access international markets through online trading platforms such as Alibaba, Amazon, TikTok, Shopee, etc.

Through these activities, businesses are equipped with knowledge about digital transformation, e-commerce, building online stores, promoting products, managing orders, signing international sales contracts and logistics in e-commerce. Thereby contributing to optimizing the efficiency of production and business activities, improving export capacity and expanding markets.

At My Phuong Food Company Limited, online export with the main product of baked coconut cake is bringing the business real profits with the number of orders increasing rapidly.

Ms. Mai Thi Y Nhi, Director of My Phuong Food Company Limited, said that the company is operating the Alibaba goods export channel with two customer groups: China and English-speaking markets. Orders are on the rise, averaging nearly 1,000 orders per month.

To effectively operate online export activities, the unit focuses on training speaking - storytelling - interaction skills for the staff, aiming to build a more stable and professional livestream channel. Through this sales channel, we share with customers real products, real people, real stories. Although it is not easy to “get in”, we believe that this is the right direction and we need perseverance to reach the finish line”, Ms. Mai Thi Y Nhi expressed.

Synchronize solutions

Faced with the trend of online export activities becoming an inevitable and strategic choice for businesses, the city's Department of Industry and Trade continues to synchronously deploy solutions to develop online exports.

Accordingly, focusing on promoting comprehensive digital transformation in trade, promoting digital trade, connecting Da Nang businesses with international partners via online platforms; strongly reforming administrative procedures, simplifying import-export processes and enhancing digitalization.

At the same time, deploy cooperation activities with large domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms to support businesses to participate in domestic and international e-commerce platforms, apply cross-border e-commerce in the Da Nang City E-commerce Development Program for the period 2026 - 2030...

The long-term goal is to build Da Nang into an e-commerce center of the Central Highlands region, developing digital payment infrastructure, smart logistics and a cross-border e-commerce ecosystem.

Continue to coordinate with units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , relevant ministries and agencies and units such as the E-commerce Association, Amazon, TikTok, Shopee... to strengthen training and in-depth consultation on marketing and sales skills, improve the quality of e-commerce human resources, through cooperation between management agencies, universities and technology enterprises.

“The Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City is finalizing a draft Resolution on regulations on the content, support levels and funding for trade promotion in the area. This includes a new policy aimed at supporting businesses to open booths, promote and export goods on international e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Alibaba, Shopee Global... to help businesses boldly apply digital technology and expand exports through e-commerce,” said Ms. Do Thi Quynh Tram.

Regarding e-commerce activities in general and online export in particular, the City Tax Department has also built and operated official digital communication channels such as Zalo Official Account or Fanpage, Facebook of tax authorities at all levels. Through these channels, tax authorities can quickly and promptly post new tax policies, and at the same time use visual images, infographics, and short, easy-to-understand videos to propagate to taxpayers.

Cross-border e-commerce is an important way for goods to reach global consumers directly, reducing dependence on intermediaries and distribution costs. Supporting Da Nang businesses to proactively participate in online export activities will contribute to enhancing the value of local brands, while contributing to the city's import-export turnover.
