At the press conference announcing the program "National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2025" on the afternoon of November 4, in Hanoi, Ms. Lai Viet Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that after more than a decade of organization, Online Friday has gone beyond the framework of a simple shopping festival, becoming an event that gathers and connects the entire e-commerce industry, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese market to the top of the region and the world in terms of growth rate.
Currently, Southeast Asia is one of the most dynamically developing regions in the world in terms of cross-border e-commerce. Among them, Vietnam is a notable bright spot. With an expected scale of 25 billion USD by 2024 and a growth rate of 20%, Vietnam's e-commerce currently ranks third in Southeast Asia in terms of scale, first in terms of growth rate and in the top 10 fastest growing e-commerce platforms globally.
"However, despite rapid development and wide spread, one of the biggest problems of e-commerce in Vietnam today is still consumer trust. Since the beginning of the year, the press has reported a lot about the problem of counterfeit goods in both online and offline environments, attracting great attention from society," Ms. Viet Anh shared.
This reality shows that there is a need for more synchronous and appropriate solutions to build a transparent and safe business environment, protecting the rights of consumers and reputable businesses in the market.

"Therefore, the theme of Online Friday 2025 is 'Safety - Peace of mind - Happiness'. The event will not only stop at stimulating consumption, but also aim to create a modern and transparent e-commerce ecosystem," Ms. Viet Anh emphasized.
The organizers will focus on enhancing the responsibility of digital platforms and sellers in building trust and protecting consumer rights, with the spirit of "Happy shopping, happy shopping".
Sharing more about the program's message, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Director of eComDX Center said that this slogan aims to encourage consumers, especially young people, to enjoy online shopping as an exciting digital cultural experience, instead of just a normal behavior.
National E-commerce Week will take place from November 13-17, 2025 nationwide. During this time, businesses are allowed to apply promotional limits of up to 100%.
This year's program will have many breakthrough activities, realizing the theme "Safety - Peace of mind - Happiness". In particular, the Livestream Online Friday 2025 event series will provide in-depth knowledge to help consumers identify genuine and fake goods.
The first Mega Live organized by the Organizing Committee is large-scale, with visual demonstrations and detailed instructions on how to distinguish genuine and fake goods, aiming to improve consumers' skills.
People can explore modern shopping solutions, experience digital payments, smart logistics services and visit genuine products. This is also an opportunity for businesses to connect and find partners.
"We hope that consumers will proactively equip themselves with knowledge to shop smartly and confidently. At the same time, sellers also need to improve their responsibility and transparency of information to build long-term reputation," Mr. Tuan emphasized.
With the cooperation of consumers, businesses and management agencies, Online Friday 2025 is expected to become a special mark, a place where shopping is not only "convenient" but also truly "fun", contributing to promoting the sustainable development of the Vietnamese e-commerce market.
