An Giang promotes disbursement of public investment capital in 2025

The content was informed by the People's Committee of An Giang province after the meeting of Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ho Van Mung with departments and branches on November 4, on the progress of public investment disbursement in the first 10 months of the year and discussed solutions to speed up the progress in the remaining months.

According to the report of the Department of Finance of An Giang province, the total public investment plan for 2025 of the province assigned by the Prime Minister is 21,306 billion VND, while the Provincial People's Council approved the allocation of 26,071 billion VND (4,764 billion VND higher than the Central plan). This capital is allocated in detail for 1,101 projects and 3 national target programs, focusing on key areas such as transport infrastructure, agriculture , health, education, climate change response and smart urban development.

As of October 31, the cumulative disbursement reached more than VND 10,715 billion (equivalent to 50.29% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 41.1% compared to the plan approved by the Provincial People's Council). The whole province has 12/27 units with a disbursement rate higher than the average, in which the most prominent are Kien Giang Vocational College, the provincial police, Kien Hai special zone, the forestry sub-department, the management board of investment projects for construction of agricultural works and rural development, the department of agriculture and environment.

At the meeting, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung acknowledged and commended units that achieved a disbursement rate of over 70%, while criticizing investors with low results, requesting to review and adjust working methods in a specific, drastic and responsible direction. Mr. Mung emphasized that heads of agencies and units must take direct responsibility for their disbursement results, considering this an important criterion in assessing capacity and level of task completion.

The leaders of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee requested that before November 15, units must complete the correction of existing problems, speed up the progress of documents, resolve legal procedures, and closely coordinate with localities to remove obstacles in site clearance, investment procedures and disbursement. For key projects, contractors need to work overtime and increase construction shifts to ensure completion of progress as committed. Violations, delays or weaknesses will be strictly inspected and handled.

This peak period is considered a strong step by An Giang to promote the effective use of public investment capital, contributing to stimulating economic growth, completing infrastructure and improving people's lives. This is also the basis for the province to continue to complete the target of disbursing 100% of the capital plan in 2025, creating an important driving force for the new development stage after administrative consolidation.
