Binh Thanh Dong Commune started construction of traffic bridge

On November 5, the People's Committee of Binh Thanh Dong commune (An Giang province) coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Binh Dong bridge.

Delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for bridge construction.

Binh Dong Bridge connects the two banks of Binh Dong 1 Hamlet and Binh Tay 1 Hamlet. The bridge is 36m long, 5m wide, and has a load capacity of 8 tons. The estimated construction cost is over 2.5 billion VND, with socialized sources from businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the commune. Cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and people in the commune contribute working days and counterpart funds.

Binh Thanh Dong Commune People's Committee received nearly 600 million VND in support for bridge construction.

The old Binh Dong Bridge was a wooden bridge. The local government and people have contributed funds to repair the bridge many times. However, the bridge has seriously degraded, does not ensure traffic safety, and affects people's travel and transportation of goods.
