Detained the subject who used a weapon to beat someone causing serious injury

On November 5, Chi Lang Ward Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police had executed an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Tran Van Giau (born in 1993, residing in Voi I Hamlet, Chi Lang Ward), to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.

An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency read the arrest warrant for suspect Giau.

According to the investigation results, at about 7:30 p.m. on August 24, 2025, at Voi I hamlet, Chi Lang ward, due to a personal conflict, Tran Van Giau used a weapon (a 32cm long round piece of wood) to hit the head of the victim Nguyen Van Loc (born in 1994, permanent resident of Voi I hamlet, Chi Lang ward). The result of the injury assessment of the victim Loc was 46%.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police continues to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
