Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden Company Limited has just announced its financial report for the third quarter of 2025. Accordingly, the Zoo's revenue mainly comes from selling entrance tickets. In the third quarter, this unit sold more than 513,000 entrance tickets, recording revenue of nearly VND 26.6 billion.

In addition to selling entrance tickets, the Zoo also has a large source of revenue from selling soft drinks, food, games, souvenirs, etc. with a revenue of more than 14 billion VND.

In the first 9 months, the Zoo recorded a revenue of nearly 122 billion VND, an increase of more than 13% compared to the same period last year. Thus, the average revenue of the Zoo reached more than 450 million VND/day.

Revenue from ticket sales to the Zoo in the first 9 months reached nearly 78 billion VND. Revenue from beverage and food sales contributed more than 20.5 billion VND. The remaining revenue came from other sources.

After 3 quarters, the Zoo's gross profit reached nearly 35 billion VND. Profit after tax reached more than 4.8 billion VND, up nearly 12% over the same period last year. The zoo also had more than 3.3 billion VND from financial revenue.

Regarding expenses, the main expenses are in business management, with an expenditure of VND 28.8 billion, an increase of nearly 22% over the same period last year.

By the end of the third quarter, the total assets of the Zoo reached over VND900 billion. In addition, the company also had over VND82 billion in bank deposits.

Previously, at the end of 2024, the Zoo faced the risk of forced tax collection of more than VND 846 billion, of which up to VND 787 billion was overdue money related to land rent. The reason was that the Zoo did not operate for profit but had to pay land rent of more than VND 163 billion/year. Therefore, this zoo was in a difficult situation for many years.

By April 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee had adjusted the land lease to land allocation for more than 96% of the zoo area. This helped the Zoo escape the tax debt burden of nearly VND800 billion and gradually recover its finances.

Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden was built in 1864. This is one of the 8 oldest zoos in the world . The Zoo and Botanical Garden is currently raising more than 2,000 animals of 135 species, including many rare species such as Indochinese tigers, Bengal tigers, douc langurs, yellow-cheeked gibbons, crested pheasants, gaurs, white rhinos, golden deer, leopards, clouded leopards...

There are also more than 2,500 trees with more than 900 preserved plant species.
