Ho Chi Minh City: Complete construction of park and memorial at land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To before Tet 2026

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the handover of the land plot at 1 Ly Thai To to the Sun Group Joint Stock Company before October 31 to build a park and memorial for COVID-19 victims.

On October 29, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued an official dispatch conveying the direction of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc on implementing the direction of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang at the meeting on the plan to renovate land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To, Vuon Lai ward.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently hand over the land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To Street to the sponsor (Sun Group Joint Stock Company) no later than October 31.

The sponsor will build a green park, a playground for the community, and a memorial for COVID-19 victims, to be completed and put into use before Lunar New Year 2026.

The Department of Planning and Architecture is assigned to organize the inventory, evaluation and classification of villas on the land before November 10, 2025, and at the same time guide the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward to organize the establishment of local adjustments to the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan on the above land.

The Department of Culture and Sports organizes to collect comments on the design ideas for the park construction proposed by the sponsor within 15 days, synthesizes comments and sends them to the sponsor to complete the design plan.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Construction to be directly responsible for directing the construction of the park until its completion and putting it into use. At the same time, urgently establish an investment project to expand Tran Binh Trong Street using the city's budget.
