Training on anti-human trafficking and climate change

On July 19, in Bac Kan City, the Department of Grassroots Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Bac Kan province to organize a training course on preventing and combating human trafficking and preventing and combating natural disasters - proactively adapting to climate change from the community.

At the conference, delegates were a team of grassroots information workers from the Department of Culture - Information, the District Culture, Sports and Communication Center, and the Commune-level Radio Stations of the whole province. They were introduced to topics related to preventing and combating human trafficking and preventing and combating natural disasters.

The conference listened to Ms. Dang Thi Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Disaster Response and Overcoming, Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) presenting the topic: Natural disaster prevention and control in the Northern mountainous region; Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Van Trinh, Deputy Head of Department 5, Department of Criminal Police ( Ministry of Public Security ) presenting the topic: Propaganda to prevent and combat crimes of human trafficking and illegal exit to find work; Dr. Nguyen Van Truong, lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda presenting the topic: Application of digital technology in producing radio programs for grassroots radio stations.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that currently in the world and in Vietnam, the situation of human trafficking is very complicated, with many potential risks that directly impact human rights; along with that, the issue of preventing and combating natural disasters, proactively adapting to climate change is extremely necessary. The Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Information also emphasized that although mass media, the internet and social networks are currently developing strongly, grassroots information is still one of the indispensable channels of information and propaganda. Through the conference, experts and reporters will be equipped with and supplemented with knowledge and skills to contribute to improving the quality and further promoting the role of the grassroots information team in Bac Kan./.
