Of this, the area planted with rice is 109,790 hectares out of 112,000 hectares (reaching 98% of the plan); the area planted with corn is 11,500 hectares out of 14,000 hectares (reaching 82.1% of the plan); peanuts are 890 hectares out of 1,000 hectares (reaching 89% of the plan); sweet potatoes are 990 hectares out of 1,100 hectares (reaching 90% of the plan); vegetables and legumes are 10,570 hectares out of 12,000 hectares (reaching 88% of the plan); and other crops are 9,500 hectares out of 11,900 hectares (reaching 79.8% of the plan).

To respond to the complex developments of Typhoon No. 3, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strictly implement the directives of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense; and at the same time, focus on directing the autumn crop production.

Local authorities are proactively draining excess water from main river systems and irrigation canals in the fields, mobilizing forces to clear waterways in drainage canals, and inspecting and raising the embankments of fields, plots, and drainage canals to ensure quick and efficient water drainage for areas at risk of flooding.

Residents of Quang Phu Ward are harvesting vegetables.

According to the plan, after the storm, it is necessary to urgently drain the surface water from the fields, clean the fields, spray foliar fertilizers and biological products... to help the crops recover. At the same time, replanting should be carried out to ensure the planting density.

For industrial crops and perennial fruit trees, the agricultural sector and local authorities should direct and guide producers to focus on harvesting quickly and efficiently. After storms, floods, and waterlogging, it is necessary to urgently drain water and implement technical care measures to restore orchards. At the same time, proactively secure seed sources to carry out replanting or re-planting in damaged areas.

In addition, technical staff were assigned to closely monitor the situation at the grassroots level, keeping a close watch on the development of the storm and the pest and disease situation in order to proactively respond promptly and quickly address any damage caused by the weather and pests.
