Focus on supporting businesses to restore production and business after the storm

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of November 9, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected the damage and recovery work caused by storm No. 13 at a number of enterprises in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. Accompanying him were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors, units and localities.

The Economic Zone Management Board said: Storm No. 13 has caused heavy damage to businesses, of which the heaviest damage is concentrated in Phu Tai - Long My Industrial Park and Nhon Hoi Industrial Park (areas A and B). As of the reporting time, 65 businesses have reported preliminary damage. Of which, only 2 businesses have estimated the specific damage value: Anh Vy Company Limited with a loss of about 8 billion VND and Phuoc Tien Company Limited with a loss of about 11.7 billion VND; other businesses are waiting for the insurance company to verify and assess the damage.

Currently, because the power system has not been restored, the work of cleaning and repairing the infrastructure is facing many difficulties; meanwhile, the enterprise has not been able to hire a specialized factory construction unit nor mobilize workers to participate in the repair.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested support for HD Nhon Hoi Joint Stock Company to transport the company's goods to another place to avoid damage.

At Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected the situation and directly directed to immediately resolve difficulties for enterprises: Han Viet Hai Company Limited; Catry Hong Kong Company Limited; HD Nhon Hoi Joint Stock Company; Fago Animal Feed Company Limited; Tan Dai Hung General Company Limited.

Enterprises proactively take initial steps to repair damaged infrastructure.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan shared the difficulties of enterprises; at the same time, requested enterprises to proactively clean up, initially fix infrastructure and soon restore production and business; note to ensure labor safety, not to cause further damage during the repair process.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the relevant agencies to focus on reviewing and fully calculating the damage to enterprises; at the same time, urgently restore the power system and water supply for production; regularly be present at the scene to grasp the situation and promptly support to resolve the difficulties of each enterprise. Enterprises that are not damaged or have suffered little damage will support enterprises that have suffered heavy damage to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Along with that, the province will consider financial support policies, credit and appropriate incentive mechanisms to help businesses quickly restore production and stabilize jobs for workers.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested urgent handling of the situation of sand overflowing onto the road surface and broken electric poles on some roads in the Economic Zone to ensure traffic safety in the area.

Also this afternoon, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected the damage and recovery work after storm No. 13 at FLC Quy Nhon eco-resort and Crown Retreat Quy Nhon tourist area.

At these tourist spots, many construction items had their roofs blown off and were flooded; some landscape areas, trees, lighting systems and internal roads were damaged. Currently, the management units are mobilizing forces and equipment to clean up and make initial repairs.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested units to focus on quickly overcoming the consequences, urgently restoring infrastructure, and soon reopening to welcome visitors. In the long term, tourism businesses need to have a comprehensive solution on planning and building modern infrastructure, capable of responding to natural disasters, aiming at the goal of developing safe, friendly and sustainable tourism.
