Latest benefits when updating VNeID application

The National Population Data Center ( Ministry of Public Security ) has released VNeID version 2.1.6, adding some new features such as:

- Adjusting the utility of issuing Criminal Record Certificates, for cases with permanent residence in Hanoi from June 1, 2024, the fee for providing criminal record information via the VNeID application will be applied according to Resolution 11/2024-NQ-HDND.

- Add function to track history of document cancellation and history of document information changes.

- Added a utility that allows citizens to confirm their residence information through the VNeID application.

In addition, Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT amending a series of Circulars related to road transport, road transport support services, vehicles and drivers will take effect from June 1. The new regulation clearly states: "A valid PET material driving license is a driving license issued by a competent authority, with the blank number, date of issue, and expiration date printed on the driving license matching the blank number, date of issue, and expiration date in the driving license management information system or with driving license information that has been authenticated on VNeID".

Thus, starting from June 1, 2024, if the driver's license on VNeID has been approved (authenticated), it will be considered valid.

How to present driver's license on VNeID

Step 1: Download the latest version of the VNeID app on your phone via Google Play or App Store.

Step 2: Open the VNeID application and log in with the corresponding account. On the main interface, click on the Driver's License section, re-authenticate with passcode or fingerprint. Note, in case the Driver's License section is not visible, users only need to access the Document Wallet - Driver's License section.

Step 3: To present your driver's license on VNeID when requested by the traffic police, select Present documents, check the two boxes Driver's license and Vehicle registration, then click Confirm. At this time, the phone screen will display driver's license information including license number, date of issue, validity, place of issue... and related information.
