A house directly affected by landslide

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the landslide at the junction of Can Duoc River - Muong Quynh River has been occurring since 2024 until now, with a total landslide length of about 70m, going about 10m into the mainland, and a landslide depth of up to 4m compared to the original status.

The landslide completely swept away the temporary house of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhu's family, causing cracks and subsidence of the ground, seriously threatening the main house of the people and putting the surrounding area at risk of further landslides.

The incident has directly affected 4 households with 16 people, including 2 policy households. The cause of the landslide was determined to be the impact of the flow, high tide, water level fluctuating from 3-4m, combined with weak ground and strong currents causing the riverbank to erode, creating dangerous frog jaws and steep slopes.

Faced with the above developments, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Tan Lan commune to urgently evacuate people and property from the dangerous area, put up warning signs, isolate the landslide area, arrange forces to guard, and ensure security and order in the area.

At the same time, the commune needs to develop an urgent treatment plan and issue an emergency construction order to prevent landslides from spreading and ensure people's safety.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to review and update the landslide belt, monitor actual developments, and synthesize reports to the Provincial People's Committee. The Department of Finance advises on arranging capital from the natural disaster prevention and control fund and other legal sources to deploy emergency landslide prevention and control projects.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned Tay Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television to promptly inform and warn people inside and outside the area to proactively prevent and ensure the safety of life and property./.
